Boys fight

A 3rd year junior high school student, member and captain of the Nankatsu Junior high soccer club (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 51, pages 20-21).

In front of everyone, he doesn't admit that he's in love with Sanae (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 52, page 5).

Not having news from Misaki, he'd like to meet him again, even as an opponent (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 52, pages 9-10), and will express that wish to journalists (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 55, pages 146 to 149).

He still wants to become a pro soccer player in Brazil, and for that sake, is taking portuguese lessons in the even with Carlos (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 51, pages 22 to 25). Katagiri of the Japanese soccer association is helping him in this endeavor, organizing training camps with high school students for him, sending tapes of his play to pro clubs in Brazil, he's also asking him to build his legend in japan by staying undefeated, andthus, to win the Junior high school national tournament for the 3rd time in a row, then to be on top of Brazilian soccer, so japan can eventually win the world cup afterwards (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 51, pages 36 to 39).
However, after meeting the Ootomo soccer club during one of their trainings (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 52, pages 50 to 53), he'll realize that he has been negligent, and that after winning every match he became pretentious, and so, decides to train even harder to change that pretention into self-confidence (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 52, page 56). He'll also harden the team's trainings (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 53, pages 1 to 3).

He's following the advices in the notebook that Roberto gave him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 51, page 16), (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 52, pages 13-14). One of the things he'll have troubles to master from Roberto's notebook is the drive shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 56, pages 12 to 14), which he'll fail to do against Azumaichi (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 60, pages 54 to 61), and Hanawa (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 64, pages 55 to 61).

During the national tournament, he'll be injured to the leg because of Soda's marking (Captain Tsubasa
arc, chapter 60, pages 42-43), and to the shoulder by trying to protect Masao from a bad fall (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 64, pages 22 to 24), Jito will also further hurt him to his injured shoulder (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 66, pages 19 to 21), (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 66, pages 55 to 57).

He'll have many close games (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 61, pages 24-25), (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 64, pages 90 to 94), (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 74, pages 18-19), and eventually collapse in the finals, still, him, along with Sanae will convince doctor Kamijo to let him keep on playing (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 82, pages 49 to 51). The match will then end on a shared victory (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 84, pages 46-47).
