Boys fight

He's a member, and captain of the Furano soccer club (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 55, page 156).

His ambition is to defeat Tsubasa and Nankatsu, and in doing so, winning the national tournament (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 55, page 158). Tsubasa and Nankatsu are their primary objective, Hyuga and Toho are their secondary objective (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 65, page 5).
In order to win the national tournament, he decided to improve his team scoring ability by being able to score with long shots, and since he's considering himself not a genius, he trained like crazy to make up for it (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 71, pages 57 to 59).

He's frutrated not to be able to train properly because of the snow in Hokkaido, making him especially motivated not to lose against players who do not have to face such harsh conditions (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 65, pages 63 to 66). He also has a complete trust towards his teammates, for example he'll pass the ball to Oda during a great chance, even though he already failed to score twice (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 65, pages 72 to 74).

Intrigued by the fact that Hyuga isn't playing matches, he'll make him remember the cantina incident where Hyuga hit him, and that Hyuga better be playing so he can take his revenge on the ground (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 64, pages 98-99).
He'll also warn Tsubasa to be careful against Hirado (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 65, page 11).

He'll be totally oblivious to Fujisawa's feelings towards him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 65, pages 28 to 30).

Finally facing Tsubasa and Nankatsu in the semifinals, he'll act as a cushion as Tsubasa was going to fall on his injured shoulder, and while he was praised for his attitude (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 72, pages 20 to 23), he will soon realize that he worried too much about his injuries (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 72, pages 44-45). He'll then face him without worrying to hurt Tsubasa, allowing his team to score an important tying goal (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 73, pages 26 to 35).
Still, he'll lose the match because of a last long shot from Tsubasa, he'll then prevent Tsubasa from falling on the ground (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 74, pages 12 to 22), and he'll be recognized by Hyuga as a true warrior (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 74, page 25).

Having lost his hachimaki when trying to stop Tsubasa's last shot, when Ishizaki will give it back to him, he'll notice something and suddenly realize that everything Fujisawa did was because she was in love with him, indeed, she had written with white strings on white cloth that she loved him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 74, pages 12 to 38).
He'll eventually manage to catch up to her at the airport, and say that they'll definitely keep in touch (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 74, pages 48 to 55).
He won't immediately go back to Hokkaido though, although it was to watch the finals, he also didn't want to handle the multiple questions from his teammates about him and Fujisawa (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 76, page 30).

He'll be part of the 24 best players of the tournament (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 84, pages 68-69).
