During All Japan Jr. Youth's campaign in Europe, he'll appear from time to time as a supporter in Japan, especially before the finals against West Germany (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, page 23).

Offensive abilities
He can provide support to a teammate (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 76, page 101), can reach a cleared ball before Izawa thanks to a sliding tackle (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 77, pages 12-13), can pick up a ball cleared by the opponent (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 78, pages 46-47), and can shoot a ball repelled by the opponent's keeper (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 83, pages 75-76).

Shooting
He may kick a long shot in an empty goal, but Takasugi can block it (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 78, pages 47-48). His shot can be blocked by a face block from Tsubasa however, injured, may fall afterwards (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 83, pages 75 to 78).

Ball keeping
He may lose the ball to a sliding tackle from Kisugi (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 77, page 50).

Passing

Defensive abilities
With the help of Shimano, Kawabe, Furuta, Imai, Matsuki and Takashima, they might not be able to steal the ball from Kisugi, Taki and Izawa, but can still prevent them from shooting (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 76, pages 90 to 93).

Ball stealing
He may not be able to take the ball from Tsubasa using skillful steps and feints (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 80, pages 170-171), even if he was ready to bring him down, he may not be able to take the ball from Tsubasa getting past him with light steps and a flexible carriage of his body (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 82, pages 4-5).

Sliding tackle
He can take the ball away and send it a a teammate with a sliding tackle-lick move done with the left leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 83, pages 87-88), and the ball can go away after he's performing a sliding tackle resulting in a clash and close play against Iwami (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 80, page 135).

Sliding force
He can use the sliding force (Captain Tsubasa, chapter 78, pages 31-32). His sliding force along with Kawabe and Matsuki may not take the ball away from Izawa, Taki, Kisugi and Nagano (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 78, pages 71 to 73). Tsubasa can dodge a sliding force from him along with Sorimachi and Hyuga (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 79, pages 13 to 17), Tsubasa can also send a superb pass before being tackled by a sliding force from him along with Matsuki (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 83, pages 23-24).

Interception
He might not be able to reach Iwami before he can pass the ball to a teammate (Captain Tsubasa, chapter 76, page 87), and might not be able to prevent Iwami from sending a high ball to a teammate behind (Captain Tsubasa, chapter 80, page 27).

Blocking
Tsubasa's drive shot can go above him, but also above the goal bar (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 77, pages 68 to 71).
