次藤 洋 - JITO HIROSHI
Appearances

World youth

He lost to Hyuga and Toho Academy senior high school in the winters' nationals in the semi finals (The strongest opponent! Netherlands youth, pages 8-9).

Selected to play for Japan youth for friendly matches, without Tsubasa playing in the Brazilian pro league, Wakabayashi gone missing, Hyuga, injured during the finals of the senior high school national tournament, and with Misaki in a bad condition and falling into a slump, they'll lose their first two friendly matches against Netherlands youth, said to be the strongest in Europe at the time, pretty badly, 0-6 and 0-7 (The strongest opponent! Netherlands youth, pages 29 to 43).
Desperate to show a better performance, Japan youth will train in tears in the middle of the night, and be surprised to see Tsubasa who came to help them. Thanks to Misugi's advices for the defense, Hyuga playing thanks to a painkiller injection, and Misaki playing despite his slump, they'll show a better performance but will still have troubles because of Tsubasa's current condition which isn't perfect (The strongest opponent! Netherlands youth, pages 50 to 79). However, energized by the sudden appearance of supporters in the stadium, Tsubasa's condition will improve, Wakabayashi will also
appear to support Wakashimazu to not take any more goals, and everyone to win this match (The strongest opponent! Netherlands youth, pages 80 to 87). He'll contribute by helping Wakashimazu stopping Dick's megaton shot, by scoring, along with the Tachibanas with their skylab twin shot, and the match will end up with a victory 10-1 (The strongest opponent! Netherlands youth, pages 100 to 103).
He'll watch the broadcast of Tsubasa's match against Santana's Flamengo (World youth arc, chapter 6, pages 46-47).
He'll be selected among the 22 members participating in All japan youth first training camp, where he'll still have troubles to distinguish the Tachibanas from one another (World youth arc, chapter 10, pages 17-18). During a late training with the defenders, they'll be challenged by newcomers, Yumikura Nobuyuki and Hino Ryoma, and they won't be able to prevent them from scoring (World youth arc, chapter 11, pages 6 to 19). During a selection test to join All Japan youth, he'll be the first to notice the abilities of a defender, who will be revealed to be Misugi (World youth arc, chapter 12, pages 4 to 7). During the appearance of the Real Japan seven, he'll be among the first group to play against them (World youth arc, chapter 14, pages 12 to 15), not wanting to let them take their place because he has refused an offer from the Yokohama Flügels pro soccer club in order to focus on All Japan youth (World youth arc, chapter 14, page 35). Him and the rest of his group will still lose to the Real Japan seven (World youth arc, chapter 15, pages 51-52). He'll be among the 7 evicted members because he's fat but will have another chance for the 2nd round of the asian preliminaries (World youth arc, chapter 16, pages 14 to 17).
He will be among the firsts to go back to the training camp along with Nitta and Soda, showing from the beginning that his body is much more flexible by performing a magnificent sliding tackle (World youth arc, chapter 27, pages 29 to 33). With the other excluded members arriving for the rematch against the Real Japan seven, just like the other members, he'll show his progress again, scoring with a sliding shot after overlapping, showing that he isn't slow footed anymore, and enough stamina to allow him to run for 90 minutes, thanks to his special training where he ran various marathons in Kyushu, and also helping Masao score with a skylab hurricane. Gamo will stop the match before the end at 10-2, and Gamo will thus allow them to come back to the team, and reveal that the true prupose of the Real Japan seven was just to be a sparring partner, since most of them can't play in the World youth, due to various cirumstances, most of them being age restrictions (World youth arc, chapter 29, pages 12 to 87).
During the Asia youth championship, he'll effectively mark Vulcan, the central pillar of Saudi Arabia youth's attacks, showing the results of his marathon special training (World youth arc, chapter 33, pages 28-29). Against China youth, overwhelmed by Hi's height at first (World youth arc, chapter 35, pages 74-75), (World youth arc, chapter 35, pages 86-87), he'll be able to defeat Hi in height thanks to the skylab hurricane, done with Masao (World youth arc, chapter 35, pages 118 to 121). They'll qualify to the World youth after winning against Iraq youth (World youth arc, chapter 42, pages 8 to 11).
Returning to Japan, after a press conference, he'll go back to Nagasaki with Sano (World youth arc, chapter 44, pages 2 to 4). After learning that the World youth may be cancelled because of a civil war in the host country, Burunga, he'll be very sad (World youth arc, chapter 45, pages 2-3). Hearing about Misaki's injury, Tsubasa will suggest to pray at Mt Fuji, since it was an idea from Misaki anyway, and he'll thus go with the rest of the team there (World youth arc, chapter 47, pages 25 to 39).
During the World youth, against Mexico youth, he will defend eagerly thanks to the skylab hurricane, being the launching pad of the Tachibanas, until the end of the first half despite Mexico youth's domination (World youth arc, chapter 52, pages 80-81). Against Uruguay youth, after leading 4-1, Uruguay youth will reverse the situation most notably because he'll regretably score an own goal. Tsubasa will, however, tell him that it was everyone's own goal, because the defenders had a big burden against Uruguay youth while their own offense wasn't worth it (World youth arc, chapter 55, pages 20 to 25). Despite this, he'll want to pay his debt for the own goal by letting Hyuga use his back for the raiju shot just like Hyuga would use the ground, in other words, sacrificing his back in order to score. However, Hyuga will instead use his back to jump higher and go above his markers, using his raiju shot immediately after landing, and scoring the equalizer, Hyuga will tell him that they need his strength for after this match as well (World youth arc, chapter 55, pages 44 to 59).
