Detailed playstyle
J Boys challenge
Position
He's a forward (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 85, page 29), but he can play like a right winger (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, page 102).
Offensive abilities
Just like Nitta and Tsubasa, he can sense when a keeper has no gap (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 62-63, page 66, pages 72-73). He can run towards the goal even before a pass is sent (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, page 42), (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 98-99), can rush to the goal when a teammate has shot to aim for a shot if the keeper is releasing the ball, and can even try to shoot if the keeper has perfectly caught the ball (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 86-87), may be frustrated to wait for the ball and go back to take him himself, but someone like Matsuyama can tell him to wait at his position (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 85, page 41). he can let a ball go through, tricking Maier and Magath (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 108, page 46). He can be marked by Galvan and Ruggeri, but may be slightly faster than them when dashing thanks to his training with a black ball that strengthened his legs and loins (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 168 to 171), can be marked by Golbate and Conti (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 91, page 68), can pick up a ball lost by a teammate (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, page 142), can run past the opponent's defense to receive a pass (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, page 182). He might be tricked by an offside trap from Pierre (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 96 to 98), but can then position himself in the back to prevent fouls and offsides (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 108-109). He may be marked by Rust and Byston to be prevented from shooting (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 100, pages 6 to 8), may be thoroughly marked by Aldovich so he can't receive passes (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 70-71).
Shooting
He can directly kick a pass and score against Toho's keeper (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 111, pages 10-11), against Wakashimazu (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 90, pages 37 to 39), can score against Amsterdam Jr.'s keeper
(Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 89, page 82), he can score with a penalty kick against Amoro and leave him motionless, despite being injured to the right leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 101, pages 52 to 55), can directly kick a pass but Gino can solidly catch it with a full body catch by anticipating the pass, although Gino will still be repelled by it a little (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 91, pages 57 to 61), Schneider might be able to kick the ball in his guts before he can shoot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, pages 11 to 15). His shot can be blocked by a sliding tackle from Pascual, but can still make an acrobatic pass afterwards (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 113 to 115). Muller, with just one hand on the ball, can withstand a shot from him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 86 to 89).
Tiger shot
His tiger shot is stated by the audience to be similar to Schneider's fire shot, and even surprised the latter (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 86, pages 34-35). But according to Wakashimazu, Schneider's fire shot is faster, more powerful and better than Hyuga's tiger shot (Captain Tsubasa, chapter 86, pages 100-101). He can score against Senior High schoolers from Mihara with his tiger shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 85, pages 44 to 46), against high schoolers from Toho with a no trap tiger shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 85, pages 71 to 73), can leave Bayern's keeper motionless with a no trap tiger shot from inside the penalty area (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 89, pages 73-74), can score against Amoro by directly kicking a pass with a tiger shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 46 to 49) and can also score like this against Amoro before Pierre can block him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 108 to 113). Wakabayashi might not react to a tiger shot at point blank range in a one on one, but according to Wakabayashi, it was just a present (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, pages 24 to 29), also, Wakabayashi might not react to a tiger shot from outside of the penalty area aimed at the goal post, but according to Mikami, it may have been because he knew it'd hit the goal post (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 86, pages 34 to 37). Despite having Gongers, Harness and Mayer ready to block his tiger shot, he can still find a spot to shoot in the goal, but it will make it pretty predictable for Wakabayashi who can stop it with two hands (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, pages 47 to 50). Even if he's injured, he can repell Napoleon's cannon shot with his tiger shot, and go into the opposite goal, Amoro might not be able to stop it even if it's done 50 meters away (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 100, pages 81 to 87). When he's injured, Pierre might be able to block his tiger shot with an acrobatic move even if he tried to block another shot before (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 101, pages 32 to 37). Muller can stop his tiger shot with a two handed side catch (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, pages 62 to 65).
Neo Tiger shot
He'll train with a ball that is 3 times heavier, given to him by coach Kira, to create the neo tiger shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, pages 61 to 63). This training will have a bad effect on his condition at first because of the strain it's putting on his leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, pages 86-87). But his shot will steadily improve (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 89, page 75), until he eventually completes the neo tiger shot, scoring against Gino and further injuring him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 92, pages 78 to 85), with his neo tiger shot, he can blow away Schneider whose leg was numb, and Muller's arm (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 106, pages 66 to 75), even if Tsubasa allowed him to kick his neo tiger shot closer to the goal, and even if Muller was surprised by the fact that he aimed between his legs, he may still be able to stop it with his knees then his hands, and be pushed back by the shot, but not so far as to cross the goal line (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 104, pages 5 to 10), his neo tiger shot can be stopped by Muller, even if he's using his left hand rather than his injured right hand, and if he can't properly catch it, he can repell the ball with an overhead (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 108, pages 10 to 13), his neo tiger shot can be blocked by Aldovich and Magath, but can still both be pushed back by it and not properly block it (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 105, pages 4 to 7).
Drive tiger shot
He might leave Galtoni motionless if he's kicking a tiger shot on a drive shot, used as a pass, as Galtoni was expecting a drive shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 54 to 59).

He can dodge tackles from Brieger and Gongers (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, page 40), even with his balance lost, he can use his left hand to dodge a tackle from Lintz (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, pages 23 to 25), he can dodge a sliding tackle from Pascual with a side step, then forcibly blow away Diaz' charge, but it can allow Galvan to the kick the ball away (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 23 to 25), the ball may go away after a double legged tackle from Pascual in the air (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, page 143). If he's injured to the leg, Pierre can take the ball from him and make him fall (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 101, pages 8 to 11)
Feint
He can get past Kaltz with a feint to the side instead of using his straight line dribbling (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, page 8), can get past Gongers and Harness with feints, but he can lose his balance while doing so (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, pages 22-23).
Dribbling

He can pass the ball to a teammate (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, page 112), can send a pass to the side with the left leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 100, page 9), can send a last pass to a teammate with the left leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 58-59), can pass the ball to a teammate with the left leg before Bergers can get to him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 99, pages 46-47), can pass the ball with the left leg to a teammate after breaking through, before Brieger and Mayer can reach him (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, page 70), he can pass the ball in the air with the left leg after dodging tackles from Brieger and Gongers by jumping (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 87, page 40). He can take the ball from a surprised partner to pass it to another teammate asking for the ball (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 91, page 25). He can send a high ball in front of the goal, but a keeper like Gino can intercept it before any player can hit it with the head (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 92, pages 45 to 49). He can perform a forward somersault for an acrobatic pass with the left leg (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 114-115), can send a high pass to a teammate (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 94, pages 182-183).

Twin shot
His twin shot with Sawada, combining an overhead from him and a jumping volley from Sawada, can trick Muller into thinking that's a shot, but it can bend because of Sawada's lower kicking power, and become a pass (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 105, pages 26 to 31).
Cross
He can send a low centering like an arrow, with power similar to a shot (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 103, page 103).
