Long passes
Gozza is relying on long feeds to send the ball forward. It is a predictable tactic according to Cesena's players (Road to 2002 arc, quattro, pages 2 to 4). One of these long feeds can be intercepted by Vecchio (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 16, pages 11 to 13).

He can send a high ball in order not to be blocked by Carotti (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 21, pages 12 to 15).

Dribbling
A former sideback and defensive midfielder, Gozza can, on rare occasions, dribble up insead of clearing a ball to surprise the opponent (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 21, pages 8 to 10).

After taking the ball from Aoi, he can immediately lose it to Bobang coming as support (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 7, pages 10-11).

Captainship and leadership
Gozza can contribute to the team even more than the coach, even outside of the field, by inviting his teammates to his restaurant (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 7, page 6).

Defense
He is at the core of Reggiana's defense (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 7, pages 4-5).
He can clear the ball towards the touch line when the team is in a difficult situation (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 10, pages 6-7).
Gozza can repell a cross coming towards Bobang to prevent him from scoring (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 4, pages 15 to 17).
He can reach a loose ball before Aoi can perform his rovesciata (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 21, pages 1 to 7).
He can foresee and try to block a sliding shot from Aoi on Bobang's postplay (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 19, pages 2 to 7).

He can miss a high ball because of Alba's fog (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 10, page 11).
He can be lured into blocking a shot from Aoi, while the latter is passing the ball to the side instead (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 13, pages 5 to 9).
He may also not be able to stop Aoi, switching from a shoot to a jump to dodge him (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 19, pages 9 to 13).
He might be surprised and not be able to stop a diving header from Bobang on a low pass from Aoi (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 11, pages 14 to 19).

Physical contact
He may be able to make Hyuga fall with a shoulder charge (Road to 2002 arc, Uno, pages 11-12), however, the latter can somehow get his balance back to get past him (Road to 2002 arc, Due, pages 11 to 13).

Ball winning
He may be able to stop, thanks to Hyuga's informations, Aoi's right angle feint (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 7, pages 8-9).
He may also be able to stop Aoi after the latter just got past Melo and Fabiano with feints similar to the right angle feint (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 15, pages 10 to 15).
He can take the ball from Aoi before he can start dribbling (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 16, pages 8-9).
He can take the ball from Buglio (Oversea fierce fights In Calcio arc, chapter 4, page 5).

Interception
He can intercept Cesena's passes (Road to 2002 arc, quattro, pages 2-3).

Marking
