Everyone is united around Hyuga because of his strong personality (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 10, page 14). They're described as persistent and posessing hidden, bottomless strength (Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 44, page 14).

They followed a special training to perform a rain of sliding tackles, and also using the reaction of their first tackle to make another one (Captain Tsubasa, chapter 19, pages 27 to 30).
